In this activity you will consider your work as teacher in the context of seven roles and explore possible ways in which ICT can support those roles.
Group Activity 1
- Think carefully about uses of ICT known to you, as well as the ICT integration competencies for educators, and consider these as you reflect on each of the 7 roles of the educator.
- Go to the online collaborative document and list all the possible uses of ICT that you can apply to each role of the educator. Do not list things that have already been written. Write the item in the column numbered for that the role.
Write your initials in front of each item that you write e.g. in the column for role 5 you would write:
GFR - write a letter to parents on the progress of their childwhich is a use that can support role 5. Pastoral role of the teacher,
The roles (abbreviated here) are numbered as follows:
1- Mediator
2- Designer
3- Administrator
4- Scholar
5- Pastoral
6- Assessor
7- Specialist
- Spend about 2 or 3 days viewing the updates to the online collaborative document and accumulate a complete list of ways in which ICT can support the roles of the educator.
- Conclude this activity by making reflective comments in yourblog.
